Henry Wriothesley:

3rd Earl of Southampton, Baron of Titchfield
Interested in theatre and poetry, he became a friend and patron of Shakepeare's
and was dedicated a number of works (e.g. Venus and Adonis, possibly sonnets)
by him. Involved in a rebellion in 1601, he was condemned to death for treason.
The sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment, so that he could return
to court under James I. He volunteered to fight in the Netherlands (helping their
revolt against Spain) and died there from an illness.
