A word of warning before you enter:

The author, Hans Weigel, was born in Amberg, Franken, and lived in Nürnberg, Franken. He probably never set foot outside Bavaria, so he cannot have seen the costumes of all nations himself. It is known that he copied from costume books which are, for the most part (i.e. within Europe), pretty accurate but depict fashions a bit older than this book (1577). I have left out any plates which cannot be accurate - I mean, really, which costume book author (male!) has ever seen a moorish (muslim!) woman at home (bare face and breasts!)?
